Steve Wolfard is the chief architect at Weibring-Wolfard Golf Design. Focusing on design, construction, and agronomics, Wolfard has overseen the firm’s design staff on every project since joining the firm in 1997.
With more than 30 years of experience in the golf business, 23 of which were spent in golf design, Wolfard has vast experience and a successful track record. He has worked on over 50 golf course projects in a variety of climates, topographies and budgets, including 13 years with the Jack Nicklaus organization, assisting on courses such as Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona, Las Campanas in Santa Fe, New Mexico and The Tournament Players Club of Michigan. As a result of his collaborative design work on the Tournament Players Club of Michigan course, the golf course was recognized with a “Golf Course Superintendents Association of America Environmental Stewardship” award. In 2008, Avid Golfer voted Wolfard “Best Local Course Designer.”
Wolfard has designed courses with Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples and Johnny Miller and holds an agronomy degree from Texas A&M University.
