Project Description
Overview
Metamora Fields sits on a unique parcel of former farm land near the center of the Township of Metamora. This gentle rolling property provided the design team an opportunity to create an inland links concept, or what could be referred to as a “Heathland ” design. The design of this golf course highlights a series of lakes and creeks collecting and conserving water for features on the property, and practical use to groom the course. The holes have been carved through the natural movement of the land with a compliment of dominant land forms and lows, coupled with a careful placement of tees, landing areas and greens accented with a mix of native grasses.
The course will provide a nice blend of holes inviting all levels of play and handicaps to enjoy. Weibring-Wolfard Design instilled a central theme of shot making that will provide an old fashioned traditional opportunity for players to bounce the ball into and around every green; creating true options in which to play the game. Metamora Fields Golf Club is the center piece of a development that has a 30,000 square foot clubhouse overlooking the 9th and 18th holes separated by a series of water features, and over 100 home sites, most with golf course views.
The golf course opened in July 2011.
