Project Description
Overview
Weibring Wolfard Golf Design completed master plans and renovated Course 1 and Course 2 of this 36 hole facility in 1995 and 2001 respectively. Course one was characterized by frequent flooding and course closures. The work for this golf course was centered around a much improved drainage system, irrigation and new features. This golf course has been extremely versatile for the City of Richardson. It has always been very popular with all levels of golfer but has also been the site of numerous qualifiers and sectional tournaments. Both golf courses are among the most popular and profitable in Dallas Fort Worth.
Building on the renovation that WWGD completed on Sherrill Park 17 years ago, the goal of this project was to upgrade the green turf to MiniVerde while expanding the green shapes out to the original size. Also, the team choose to refresh the four holes with some new features. Adjustments were made to holes 4, 5, 14, and 18. Since the course was closed, there was a complete clean-up and pruning to all of the trees while planting 80 new hard woods. Additionally, a new putting green was built near the practice range and irrigation adjustments made throughout the course.
