Project Description
Overview
The scope of the work included reshaping and rebuilding all greens to USGA specifications. In addition, a total bunker renovation, the fairways were converted to bent grass and a new irrigation system was installed. Length and balance was achieved by adding a variety of tees and angles. Additional drama was created around the greens replacing large bunkers with a variety of fairway cut chipping areas to challenge all skill levels of play while creating a clean look for the course. A small short game area was designed and built near the clubhouse.
New 15 acre practice facility at Illinois State University. Double ended tee with the back tee set up for Team practice. Two tees in each corner along with a practice green , bunker and a large chipping and wedge range in the middle. The range was funded and named for the Mounier Family who are loyal Redbird supporters!
Recently the course was renamed Weibring Golf Club in honor of D.A. Weibring an Illinois State University graduate.
