Previous to 2007, Wichita Falls Country Club golf course had undergone numerous renovations by different designers resulting in a golf course with various architectural styles. The smaller renovation projects were well intentioned but lacked a cohesive theme. Weibring-Wolfard Golf Design was hired to create a foundation that would result in a golf course that reflects a consistent theme from holes 1 to 18, while creating a challenging, traditional and fun course that the membership can be proud of.
A master plan was developed with significant involvement from staff and the planning committee and was approved overwhelmingly by the membership. The scope consisted of all new greens, tees and bunkers, an expanded and improved lake system connected by a waterfall (visible from the clubhouse), some subtle rerouting for improved variety and a turf reduction component.
