Overview
Weibring-Wolfard Golf Design completed design and renovation of the City of Amarillo owned Wild Horse Golf Course. Formerly the Ross Rodgers West Golf Course, the City changed the name to reflect its new identity. A Master Plan identifying areas of proposed improvements was completed in 2001 and construction commenced in January of 2002. The project included complete re-grading of all of the fairways and roughs, a new drainage system, reconstruction of all features including tees, greens, bunkers, a new irrigation system, a new irrigation storage lake and all new turf, the designation and development of native areas and a new practice range.
Testimonials
“I had the pleasure of working with Weibring Wolfard Golf Design for the renovation of the Wildhorse Golf Course when working for the City of Amarillo Park and Recreation Department. As Assistant Park Director, I was personally involved in the planning, bidding and construction of the project and worked side by side with the WWGD team. The high level of professionalism and guidance that they provided to the City was exactly what was needed. They produced a very solid plan and then guided us through the bidding and construction for this very successful project. The golf course was built on time and on budget and the functionality of the golf course components is excellent. The golf course was very well received the day it opened and continues to be very popular today. I would recommend Weibring Wolfard Golf Design without reservation.”
